Thanksgiving Leftover Waffle Sandwich submitted by Rebecca Wilson
NOTE: Need waffle maker
As many leftovers as you want to add but generally I use:
- Turkey slices
- Just under 1 cup stuffing divided into two portions
- Cranberry sauce
- Mashed Potatoes
- Gravy
1 – To make the bread for the sandwich, using a waffle maker, press one of the divided portions of stuffing into the machine. Wait a couple minutes until warm and toasted. If the stuffing is a little too dry and is crumbling, mix in a little gravy to help hold it together. These two waffles will act as your bread, but you can also just make one stuffing waffle to make an open-ended sandwich.
2- On the stuffing spread some mashed potatoes in a thin layer, which will help hold everything in place.
3 – Add your turkey and cranberry sauce inside (the cranberry sauce is optional if you want to add a little sugar to your sandwich) and then close up your sandwich.
5 – On the side have a little bowl of gravy for you to pour on the sandwich as you eat it or if you want to be a professional, dip that sammy in the gravy!
6 – Hope you enjoy!!
